Abstract

Smart board is one of the important applications of educational technology that
was first produced in 1991. No doubt, use of smart board has proved to be a milestone in the
field of education, yet there is difference in the attitude of different educationists regarding
effectiveness of smart board in teaching-learning process. The major research questions
was directed in the study is what is secondary school teachers’ attitude towards Smart board
usage in relation to their stream, qualification and experience? The findings revealed that
there are three levels of attitude of teachers towards smart board usage i.e favorable, neutral
and unfavorable. There is a lot of variation in attitude of teachers towards smart board usage
in relation to stream, experience and qualification.

Deepika Kohli, Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar, India

Dr. Deepika Kohli is an Assistant Professor at Khalsa College of Education GT Road
Amritsar Punjab. She was awarded PhD degree from Panjab University Chandigarh.
Having teaching and research experience of 11 years in Teacher Education Institution, she
is a popular social worker and permanent member of Lok Adalat. Another distinguished role
she performs is of being the incharge of educational clinic in the college and nodal officer
of UGC projects. She is a member of IQAC and coordinates NAAC and NCTE inspections
of the institution. She also provides academic, moral and administrative supports to young
students for competitive examinations in the capacity of being the Head of Competitive Examination Centre. She is an acclaimed author, researcher and dissertation supervisor of
Master’s students. Her Research interests are in Educational Technology and Pedagogical
techniques and approaches.
