Abstract

The Internet has become an integral part of our lives. It has brought a sea change in the way we work in any sphere of life. The Click of a finger is required to get many things done and save us from errands. It has entered the classroom and is being used by the teachers for the classroom lectures and presentations. Students use this facility extensively for projects, assignments, and reports. They remain connected to each other for discussions, information sharing, and problem-solving beyond the classroom hours. Net connections are easily available on the mobile phone. It is being used by the students for various purposes. How they use the net and exploit this media for academics, is the question of the hour. To find out this, a study was conducted on the adolescent students studying in class XI and XII. The results obtained indicated that more than ninety percent students have access to the internet. It is helpful to them in studies so parents also encourage their wards to use it. Students surf various sites on the net for information, entertainment and to remain in touch with their classmates and friends.
